Short Profile
Experience Master Planning, Media & Technology Governance, Multi-Vendor Program Coordination
Strategic Role
Program Lead | Mega Projects (Experience & Media Scope)
Period
12 Month
Responsibility
Strategic and operational leadership for the experience concept, media installations, and technology planning of the central Sphere—the architectural and thematic landmark of EXPO Astana. The scope covered Levels 1 and 2, representing the most experience-intensive and media-dense areas of the Pavilion. These levels comprised several thousand square meters and formed the core visitor journey within the Sphere. The objective was to translate architectural and curatorial intent into a robust, scalable, and operationally stable experience environment, capable of continuous high-volume public operation. Program leadership and technology governance for the defined experience and media scope within a large-scale international mega project.
Program Lead for experience concept, media installations, and system planning of Levels 1 & 2
Translation of creative and curatorial concepts into technically feasible, robust experience architectures
Technology governance across media systems, interactive installations, sensor networks, and control logic
Multi-vendor coordination across international media, IT, and system integration partners
Definition of decision structures, interfaces, and communication frameworks within the assigned scope
Responsibility for budget, schedule, and technical integration of the media and experience scope
On-site leadership during implementation, commissioning, and stabilization phases
Post-opening optimization and operational support for the experience and media systems
Value Contribution
Experience master planning for high-density, immersive exhibition environments
Alignment of storytelling, spatial design, and interactive media systems
Design for operational stability, redundancy, and maintainability under continuous public use
Support of CAPEX-driven decision-making, balancing experiential ambition with long-term asset protection
Project Description
The Sphere served as the architectural and experiential centerpiece of EXPO 2017 Astana. Within this landmark structure, Levels 1 and 2 formed the core immersive experience zones, featuring a high concentration of media installations, interactive systems, and sensor-driven environments. The responsibility covered the conceptual design, planning, and governance of these media-rich levels, ensuring that creative intent was translated into technically robust, scalable, and operationally viable installations. The combination of large visitor volumes, immersive media, and real-time system responsiveness required strong program leadership, disciplined vendor coordination, and clear technology governance.
